Enrollment and Degree Verification
Verifications are processed by using the speed and convenience of Credentials Inc. whose services are provided free for current students by logging into Patriot Web and at nominal cost for alumni, parents, and third parties. Credentials Inc. is the official third party provider of enrollment and degree verifications for George Mason University. Verifications can be used for insurance companies, scholarships, military identification cards, good student discounts, prospective employment, and all other services that require proof of being enrolled at Mason or having received a degree. This service is available 24 hours a day on the Web at www.degreechk.com.
Current students may also request verifications in person or by fax with valid Mason or government issued identification at the Office of the Registrar. Requests made in these methods normally take up to five business days to process, and are provided at no cost. Requests must be submitted using the Verification Request Form.
Students enrolled at least half time should submit forms for loan deferments to this office. We will then forward the forms to the National Student Clearinghouse for processing. Students should make sure their address and expected term of graduation are correct on Patriot Web before submitting any loan deferment or verification request.
